Holiday

Tomorrow is a holiday, but today neither I nor my brother have work, so we decided to go somewhere in search of rest, away from the noisy city. Mom told us she would cook some food, so we don't need to spend money.

As usual, there was a quarrel between my mom and my brother. I didn't know what it was about, but in the end, I guess it was just plain bickering. When I was a child, I thought that my family wasn’t normal because of all the squabbles we had, but when one grows up, realize that it's more normal than you think.

I also remember when my father punished us for our bad behavior at some family gathering. I vividly remember how he slapped us on the butt and then when we returned to the gathering, we just grin while bearing the pain. I know that my parents did what they had to do to raise us, that’s why we are the people we are now. What good times…

Well, back to the story, I was lying down in my bed waiting for news about our trip. Time passed and nobody said a word so I decided to ask them whether we would go out or not. Both were sitting in the living room watching their cell phones and I thought that they ought to get prepared for the trip. I was astonished when they asked me “What trip?”

At first, I thought maybe it was a joke because my brother is kind of pushy on some occasions (that is one of their shortcomings he needs to resolve) but when I realized they were not joking I seethe. It’s normal for me to be scolded and mocked for the way I react sometimes, so I preferred to just turn around and go back to my room.

You must think I'm a pent-up or retiring person, but the reality is that I'm the kind of person who prefers to avoid arguing. I say this without diffidence and of course, you should know I always will say what I'm thinking no matter how much that gets me in trouble.

Well, tomorrow is a holiday, we'll see how it will be...
