As I told you before, yesterday was the marathon I participated in. It began at 6:30 am and I was astonished by the number of people there. It was huge! At least 3 blocks were full of people. According to the newspaper, there were about 18,000 participants.
I went with my brother and first, we wanted to get to the front rows, but it was impossible because of the crowded streets. At the beginning of the race, it was a bit difficult to get your rhythm, we were so cramped, and only after the second kilometer I felt more comfortable running. In comparison with the last marathon I ran, this time I felt surer of myself, don't know why, just knew that my time would be better than the last time, and it was. When I was reaching the final line, the clock marked 59 minutes and 30 seconds so I sped up and passed the line in 59 minutes and 50 seconds (according to the clock) but when I saw my smart band, it was marking 57 minutes and then I remembered that at the beginning of the race the clock was already running when I was passing the start line, so, in the end, I improved my time by 3 minutes, and for me, that is a lot! 10 kilometers is not a little thing.
My brother did the race in only 53 minutes I think, but he has more physique than me, so I’m very happy for him too. Being part of these kinds of events is very motivational: watching people, getting to know new ones, exercising, and spending the morning having a good time. So, I hope there will be another marathon soon.
Now, I need some rest, my legs hurt a lot, so maybe I'm going to skip one training day.
