Saturday's cycling
Ok, I know, my bad, but don’t be upset, it’s only been two days since my last post. And to be honest, nothing special happened this past weekend. On Saturday, as usual, my brother and I went biking. This is a special day for me, I mean Saturdays, because, although we exercise every day, only on Saturdays do we work out together by cycling. We depart early, but not so early, at 10 am approximately, because first, we get breakfast. We usually go to a fancy neighborhood called Casuarinas which is located on a hill. So, the path is all upwards, very steep, and this makes our training very hard. All the way is in a zigzag and the last part isn’t asphalted until we reach a water tower, that’s the end of the path.
I still remember the first time we went on this path. I assure you, hardly anyone can reach the top of the hill the first time without getting off the bicycle. If you want to reach the top, all the way on the bicycle, first you need to do this several times, at least four times, only then, do you can reach the top of the hill. But, once you get to the top of the hill, the best part comes: the return. As you can guess, the return is all way down, so it’s breathtaking. The speed is brutal, so you must be focused on the path and hold the brakes all the way down. Of course, you must ensure that the brakes are correctly adjusted before doing this. It’s spectacular, I highly recommend it to all my friends and acquaintances doing this at least once.
I think doing these kinds of activities with my brother has enforced our relationship. It’s been a long time since we had a run-in or argument, even on rare occasions in which we can’t go cycling (whether one of us is ill for example) that makes my day dismal, but rarely don’t we go cycling on Saturdays.
Next Sunday we are going to run a marathon! This will be my second marathon and I'm very excited, but I’ll talk about this next week.
